Area information

Our small village has grown incredibly in the last 10 years, but has managed to retain that country village feel. We are situated close to all the major wine routes and are only 14kms from the sea at Blouberg.

In the last few years excellent private schools have been started and cater for all students. The El Shaddai School is a Christian based school (senior and junior) as is Curro in Sonstraal Heights.

In the Durbanvale/Aurora area is the Chester House School.

In the village is the Durbanville primary and High Schools which are Afrikaans based and Eversdal primary and Gene Louw primary (Dual medium) with Fairmont High School being a large English medium school.

In Kenridge is the famous Kenridge Primary school renown for is outstanding standards in teaching and sport.

All the major churches meet regularly and are situated in all suburbs of Durbanville.

We have a lovely Nature Garden near the centre of the town, which adds to the tranquil nature of our village.

The Durbanville Race course with its established trees and paddocks is a familiar meeting place for many and the annual horse breeders sales take place here.

The very temperate climate makes this an ideal place to live. The gardens are lush, and the very famous Rose Garden is found in Durbanville Hills. This is the testing ground for all new species of roses, and is a magnificent sight in the spring and summer.
